After rains in the hilly regions of Uttarakhand, the mountains have gradually cooled down over the past few days. Along with this, snow began to fall in the highlands of the Himalayas.

The first snow of this season fell on the peaks of Badrinath on Tuesday morning. Until now, Nandashtami (September 13) was considered the beginning of winter.

But this year it started snowing in the high Himalayan regions two weeks earlier.

Snowfall at Panchchuli in Pithoragarh

On Sunday evening, the weather in Munsiyari changed and the first snow of the season fell on the Panchachuli hills. However, due to road closures, travel entrepreneurs are also not happy with the first snowfall of the season.

They say tourists do not come due to road closures due to rain and icing after snowfalls. Thal Munsiyari road is closed in many places. Due to the incessant rains, stones fall from the hills on the roads.

The President of the Puran Pandey Hotels Association said that if the roads were open, tourists would be expected to arrive. In the current situation, even if more snow falls, the business will not benefit from this.
