At least seven people, including newlyweds, have died in flash floods caused by heavy rains in several areas of Telangana state.
In Vicarabad, newlyweds Pravulik and Nawaz Reddy were driving with four other people as they returned from a ceremony after a wedding when the newlywed, her daughter-in-law Shveta and her son, 8-year-old Trinath Reddy, were washed away by water. The boy has not yet been found.
After heavy rains, the body of a software engineer was found floating in a gutter in Warangal on Sunday evening. He was identified as Vorr Kranti Kumar of Shivanagar.
There were reports that another 70-year-old man was washed away in a car in Shankarpalli. A 30-year-old worker was also washed away in Adilabad.
In the Yadadri Bhongir area, two young girls riding a motor scooter were washed away.
Twelve passengers on a public transport bus were rescued after the vehicle got stuck in a stream of water in the Rajanna-Sircilla area.
