The state of emergency of the republican level due to the flood situation was announced on Thursday in Buryatia, the head of Buryatia Alexey Tsydenov told RIA Novosti at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF).

According to the head of the region, the flood situation is difficult throughout the summer, there were floods in different regions of Buryatia.

"Now plots and houses are flooded, where the water even came out to the chest. This is the Kyakhtinsky district, partially flooding began in the city of Ulan-Ude and the Ivolginsky region on the Selenga river … Unfortunately, the situation is developing, right now there is an increase - and we have an emergency situation today. at the regional level, before that there were only emergencies at the municipal level. Now at the republican level, several municipalities are flooded, "Tsydenov said.

He noted that so far the republic is coping on its own without the help of the federal budget.

"We are making payments to people, the first - 10 thousand rubles, then, depending on the amount of damage, from 50 to 100 thousand rubles per person," - explained Tsydenov.

According to him, the victims are compensated for the loss of the harvest, but not with money, but with a "borscht set", depending on the norms of nutrition per person. Compensate for the loss of firewood, hay supplies.
