As a theater begins with a coat rack, assembling a computer begins with choosing a platform: Intel or AMD. The decision to buy a processor is made taking into account a number of factors, and in conditions of a shortage and high prices for video cards, solutions with integrated graphics enjoy increased attention from users. Unlike Intel solutions, AMD hybrid designs regularly receive integrated GPU enhancements that reach the power of the popular external adapters of the previous generation. Back in April 2021, universal models of the Zen family were presented for OEM manufacturers, and today they are available to everyone.

Processor with integrated video core

For the consumer market, only three models with an integrated video core were announced:

  • Ryzen 3 5300G - 4 cores, 8 threads, 4.2GHz, 8 MB L3 cache, 65W TDP;

  • R5 5600G - 6 cores, 12 threads, up to 4.4GHz, 16 MB L3, 65W;

  • R7 5700G - 8 cores, 16 threads, up to 4.6GHz, 16 MB, 65W.

The 3rd Generation Zen 5000G series processors feature 7nm. manufacturing process, which made it possible to make really energy efficient CPUs with a fairly modest TDP of 65 watts. Announced for the universal AM4 platform and 400/500 Series chipsets, the Ryzen 5000G series is designed for all-round use: from high-quality 4K HDR video playback to serious work in corporate environments. Faster cache memory and high frequencies of multi-core and multi-threaded CPUs with unlocked multipliers contribute to lower latency and overall increase in throughput. However, the full power potential is revealed in Zen 3 without the G in the name, while the 5000G line is intended to solve the problem of buying an expensive system from NVIDIA and AMD Radeon.

Advances in modern GPUs

All products on sale are equipped with the video subsystem Radeon RX Vega (6, 7, 8) with a core frequency of up to 2000 MHz. Traditionally, free space in DDR4 RAM in dual channel mode is used as graphics memory. The integrated GPU is designed to display 4K images across multiple monitors, but there is enough power headroom to run some games in the popular FullHD resolution at medium to high settings, while on HD (720p) monitors you can choose ultra settings. The Radeon RX Vega subsystem in the new AMD CPUs is comparable to the performance of the entry-level Pascal generation NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1030, but significantly outperforms Intel Graphics 11 Gen codenamed Comet Lake-S. Going to 7 n.m. The technical process has had a positive effect on the development of Radeon graphics technologies, available directly in the CPU, and the expectation of a decrease in prices for discrete subsystems will now become less painful for anyone who planned to buy a processor for a future gaming PC assembly.
