As a result of a series of heavy rains and floods since July, at about 6:30 pm on September 9, 2021, the slope of a large mountain collapsed in Zhenba County, Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province in northern China.
National Highway 210 and the Yushui River were blocked by falling debris. One person suffered broken legs and ribs, another was trapped under the rubble.
The victim was sent to hospital for treatment, and the trapped man was successfully rescued and is now being treated.
After the danger arose, a local rescue headquarters was established to carry out rescue and response operations. Currently, transport diversion control has been introduced on National Highway 210, and personnel are transferred to villages around the landslide from upstream and downstream risk areas.
