On Sunday, an oil rig at the Mexican oil company Pemex exploded, followed by a fire, injuring six people, local media reported.

The company later posted a statement on its Twitter page, where it said that as of 16:30 local time, the fire was localized on the E-Ku-A2 platform of the Ku-Malub-Zaap production facility, and also reported that as a result of complexity of five people, all of them were taken to the hospital, and nothing threatens their lives. The company stressed that there were no fatalities as a result of the incident.

The incident reportedly occurred at a gas and crude oil distribution center for other oil facilities located in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Campeche. At the moment, it is reported about six wounded, but the specific damage to the objects has not yet been reported.
