Smog from a forest fire in the Pervouralsky district covered Yekaterinburg, no excess of the permissible concentration (MPC) of harmful substances in the air was detected, the regional head office of the Ministry of Emergencies reported on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, in the urban district of Pervouralsk, two kilometers from the sanatorium "Glukhoye Lake", a natural fire broke out on 40 hectares; by Wednesday morning, rescuers continue to localize it. According to rescuers, there is no threat to settlements. Since Tuesday evening in Yekaterinburg, there is a smell of burning, in some areas there is dense smog.
"According to the Crisis Management Center of the Sverdlovsk Region, smog on the territory of Yekaterinburg was caused by a natural fire in the Pervouralsk urban district … The Ministry of Emergency Situations measured the concentration of harmful substances in all districts of the city, exceeding the MPC was not recorded," the message says.
According to Uralgidromet, until the evening of August 22, meteorological conditions are expected on the territory of the Sverdlovsk Region, unfavorable for the dispersion of harmful impurities in the atmospheric air. Also in the region, abnormally hot weather is expected with average daily air temperatures above the climatic norm by 7 degrees or more. So, in Yekaterinburg on Wednesday, forecasters predict a 30-degree heat without precipitation and with a weak unstable wind.
