An active cyclone is operating in the Krasnodar Territory. Now it is going through the stage of its maximum development, and is also expanding across the territory. This was stated by Alexander Kolesnik, Deputy Head of the Territorial Center for Monitoring and Forecasting of Natural and Technogenic Emergencies of the Ministry of Civil Defense, Emergencies and Regional Security of the Krasnodar Territory.
He added that the cyclone will move towards the continental part of the region. This can lead to an increase in the frequency of precipitation and, as a consequence, a rise in the water level in rivers and flooding of territories.
Until August 14, due to the likelihood of tornadoes forming over the sea, a storm warning is in effect.
“The last case - a tornado emerging on the beach in the area of Shirokaya Balka - proved that August is the most tornado-dangerous period. Then, fortunately, there were no casualties, but the beach equipment was damaged, said Alexander Kolesnik.
He also added that information about a tropical typhoon has not yet been confirmed.
“There is a cyclone fact. It will increase in area, passing its maximum stage of development. In this direction, a storm warning is in effect in the region, and municipal rescue services are continuously consulted. The situation is under round-the-clock control, said the Deputy Head of the Territorial Center for Monitoring and Forecasting Emergencies of Natural and Technogenic Nature of the Ministry of Civil Defense, Emergencies and Regional Security of the Krasnodar Territory.
