Thousands of firefighters are trying to take control of the ongoing wildfires in the province.

Since April 1, there have been 1,451 fires in British Columbia, which have burned just over 650,000 hectares of land.

There are currently 260 active forest fires and this is how they are distributed across regions:

Kamloops Fire Center - 80

Southeast Fire Center - 62

Prince George Fire Center - 58

Fire Center Caribou - 32

Coastal Fire Center - 22

Northwest Fire Center - 6

More than 3,500 firefighters and other personnel are currently working on wildfires across the province, 364 of them outside British Columbia.

They receive air support from 209 helicopters and aircraft.

As a result of forest fires, 63 evacuation orders and 108 evacuation warnings are in force, affecting 6,219 and 31,902 sites, respectively.

Here's how they are distributed across the UK Emergency Management Regions:

Central - 52 orders and 96 warnings

North East - 5 orders and 7 warnings

Southeast - 2 orders and 10 warnings

Southwest - 3 orders and 3 warnings

Northwest - 0 orders and 2 warnings

Vancouver Island Central Coast - 1 order and 0 warnings
