Viewers watching the Wells Fargo Championship over the weekend were stunned when they noticed a monstrous fin suddenly emerging from the water behind one of the players.

The bizarre scene reportedly took place Sunday afternoon when Keith Mitchell was hitting the 17th hole at Quail Hollow in Charlotte, where the PGA was being played.

It would seem that a normal moment during the tournament took a strange turn when a rather large fin jumped out of the water behind the golfer as he watched where his ball flew.

The viewers who watched the broadcast managed to record the incident on video and began to discuss on the Internet what it could be, but no one could find a suitable explanation.

The Wells Fargo Championship's communications director told local media outlets in North Carolina that the creature was likely a very large catfish.

However, the residents of the United States did not agree with this statement, since the shape of the fin does not at all correspond to the shape of the dorsal fin of the catfish.
