In Chukotka, repairmen restore heat supply after an accident on a heating main in the village of Nunligran, Providensky urban district. More than 40 residents were taken out of the settlement by helicopters. Earlier, more than 20 children were evacuated from the boarding school.
An accident at the section of the main heating network occurred the day before, it led to the loss of the coolant, the cessation of its circulation and the shutdown of the heating network. Ten residential buildings, housing 81 people, and the school were left without central heating and were heated with electrical appliances. An emergency regime has been introduced in the village, TASS reports. The temperature there is now about minus 20 degrees.
To date, two main branches have been partially restored, emergency recovery work continues to drain the coolant from the heating system of unheated houses. Repairmen are looking for a break in the pipeline.
The Nunligran boiler house has a supply of fuel for the entire winter. The distance from the village to the regional center of Provideniya is over 100 kilometers, there is communication by winter road and by air. In total, this settlement is home to about 300 people.
