As a result of the mudflow, "the inner-village road was washed out and a mass of mud got into some courtyard areas," the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Dagestan reported today.

Six residential buildings were damaged during a mudflow in the Charodinsky district of Dagestan, mud masses affected another 34 houses, a representative of the republic's emergency services said. "For security reasons, 43 people were evacuated."

The evacuated residents of the village, including 17 children, were "resettled among their relatives," a spokesman for the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations said. According to him, two houses were seriously damaged. "At the moment, the power supply is forcibly disconnected for security reasons. Mobile communication with this settlement is difficult."
