Three family members were killed and two others were injured in a lightning strike in Muzaffarabad on Monday.
According to the information, lightning struck a house located in the village of Abbar Batta in the Nilam Valley in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
As a result of the terrible incident, three family members died: a mother, a son and a daughter, and two more received burns.
The bodies of the dead and injured were taken to a nearby medical facility. Monsoon rains wreaked havoc in Muzaffarabad and surrounding areas on Monday.
Last week it was reported that heavy rain completely destroyed 14 houses in the village of Salkhala in the Nilum Valley, and 20 were partially damaged. The water supply system in many areas was also destroyed by rain, causing an acute shortage of drinking water.
Meanwhile, heavy rains are expected on Eid-ul-Adha in Lahore, and the Flood Forecasting Department (HDP) has warned of heavy floods on four rivers flowing in Pakistan.
Meteorologists have warned of heavy rainfall in Lahore on 20 and 21 July.
In addition, the FFD also warned of severe floods on the Indus, Chenab, Kabul and Jelum rivers.
