The fire of forest fires in the Chelyabinsk region destroyed 71 buildings - these are residential buildings and garden houses, RIA Novosti told RIA Novosti on Saturday in the press service of the GUMChS in the region.

Earlier it was reported that the total area of forest fires in three districts of the Chelyabinsk region is about 14 thousand hectares. On Friday, the fire from forest fires spread to the villages of Dzhabyk and Zapasnoye, dozens of houses and dachas caught fire. Extinguishing fires is complicated by strong squall winds. It was noted that the task force headed by the Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation Ilya Denisov will coordinate the work of the group to eliminate fires in the Chelyabinsk region.

“Unfortunately, 71 buildings were destroyed by fire. No one was injured,” the press service said.

They specified that 71 buildings are the total number of residential buildings and garden houses.

According to the GUMChS, 179 people are currently in temporary accommodation, of which 128 are children.

To protect the settlements, a build-up of the grouping of forces and means was carried out by two echelons of airmobile groups of the Ural Training and Rescue Center of the EMERCOM of Russia in the amount of 170 people and 28 pieces of equipment. The liquidation involved the Il-76 and Be-200ES aircraft, as well as the Mi-8 helicopter with the APU-5 EMERCOM of Russia.

The total group involved in the elimination of wildfires and the protection of settlements is more than 600 people, 142 units of equipment, three aircraft and four fire trains, the GUMChS said.
