Heavy rains on Tuesday, January 28, caused flooding in the Floridablanca municipality of Santander, Colombia, Floodlist reported.

Streams of water and mud swept through the streets, sweeping away cars. Pictures of vehicles piled on top of each other appeared on the Web. In total, the flood damaged about 100 cars and damaged at least 30 houses.

The flooding began in the morning hours of January 28 after the nearby Rio Frio River overflowed its banks. Disaster relief authorities reported widespread property damage, but no one was hurt.

Heavy rains in the region have also caused flooding and landslides in adjacent forested areas, causing severe environmental damage.
