Nutritionist Daniela Krehl from the Bavarian Consumer Center, in an interview with Focus.de, listed healthy foods that can be harmful to health.

The nutritionist included canned food on this list. Canned tomatoes, she said, contain the antioxidant lycopene, which helps strengthen the immune system and may reduce the risk of cancer. However, the main problem is the bank. Its inner lining may contain BPA. The substance, if ingested, can lead to hormonal imbalance. Therefore, Krell recommended choosing canned food in glass jars.

She urged to pay close attention to the use of fish, since in addition to useful substances, it may contain mercury, especially in tuna. The concentration of mercury in fish depends not only on its age, but also on the place where it was grown. Antibiotics are often added to salmon feed, according to the nutritionist.

Rice, as Krehl noted, may contain arsenic, which in small amounts leads to vascular damage and contributes to the development of cardiovascular diseases, and in large quantities - lead to the development of cancer.

Arsenic, Krell said, is released into the environment through wastewater and fertilizers. Therefore, she advised to reduce the amount of rice in the diet. In addition, the expert advised to use brown rice, since there are practically no useful substances in refined white.
