Spain's state meteorological agency previously issued an emergency warning for bad weather in many provinces of the kingdom. Roads and ports were closed, classes in schools were canceled, and local residents were evacuated.

The most affected Mediterranean coast of the country (autonomous communities of Catalonia, Valencia, Murcia and Andalusia) and the Balearic Islands. Here the height of the waves reached 7 meters, and the wind in gusts of up to 144 km / h knocked down trees and destroyed structures. The coastal areas are flooded. Because of the torrential rains, they overflowed the banks of the river, there were floods. And in mountainous areas, the snow cover exceeded the height of the entrance doors.
