The Roskontrol publication has published a list of the most common misconceptions about water treatment. Check to see if you need to change your approach to your daily fluid intake.
Boiling
Heat treatment of water really cleans it from microorganisms. However, as many remember from the course of school chemistry and physics, heating speeds up all processes. Including, they are activated in chemical reactions between organic components in water and active chlorine. This, in turn, causes the formation of dioxins - chemicals that suppress immunity and cause cancer.
The water from the bottle is cleaner
Some people think store-bought water is better than home-purified water in terms of quality. In fact, the bottles sell liquid that has been purified using reverse osmosis technology, like a conventional filter available to consumers. At the same time, you yourself are responsible for the storage conditions of the water at home.
Silver cleaning
The noble metal can indeed slow down the spread of bacteria in a liquid, but it does not help cleanse it of organic and inorganic substances. Therefore, this method of water purification is not effective enough.
Freezing
It is believed that it is enough to freeze and thaw the water once to make it clean and healthy. In fact, this process is much more complex and involves several stages of cleaning.
Natural sources
People believe that well and spring water is much more useful than bottled or filtered water at home, therefore it does not need to be processed. But the microbiological composition in open water sources changes almost every hour, so it is quite difficult to be sure of its reliability.
