The flooding situation in Greater Jakarta, Indonesia has worsened over the past 2 days. As of 22 February, 5 people have died, two are missing and more than 30,000 people are displaced.

The flooding reportedly occurred in Greater Jakarta on February 19, causing 1,300 evacuations, mostly in South and East Jakarta, and also affected parts of West Jakarta.

The next day, flooding occurred in the Karawang Regency, West Java Province, which affected 28,329 and displaced 4,184.

8,539 housing units were flooded and infrastructure damaged.

According to Indonesia's National Disaster Management Board (BNPB), as of February 22, 52,527 people were affected and 19,092 were displaced. The BNPB said the floods were caused by heavy rainfall and the flooding of the Citarum River.
