"There are two large wildfires in the Voronezh region. In the Novokhopersky region, a forest fire in the Kalinovo village continues on an area of 90 hectares, in the Anninsky region [near the village of Stary Kurlak] - more than 65 hectares of landscape and 15 hectares of forest fires," Khrenov said.

He added that the message about the burning of dry grass and reeds in the area of the village of Stary Kurlak in the Anninsky district of the Voronezh region was received on Friday at about 14:30 Moscow time, the fire was not localized.

In addition, in Voronezh in the morning in the Central, Kominternovskiy and Sovetskiy districts there is a smell of burning. These are the consequences of fires - due to the difference in day and night air temperatures in the morning, smoke is nailed to the ground.

Fires in the Voronezh region

Massive landscape and forest fires have been occurring in the region since Saturday. The highest fire hazard class has been established almost throughout its territory, dry weather is observed and precipitation is not expected in the coming days. Since September 30, the fire department has managed to defend six settlements and extinguish three large wildfires on a total area of more than 360 hectares. Fire fighting, according to Khrenov, is complicated by gusty winds of up to 15 m / s and the lack of the necessary fire water supply in rural areas to eliminate fires of this magnitude.

"We urge all villagers, especially in small settlements, to organize themselves and create duty groups of 2-3 people who will patrol the territory and, if possible, preventing sunburn at the initial stage, report them to phone 101. This will be the best help. fire brigade at this difficult time, "said Khrenov.
