For some unknown reason, hundreds of starfish and hedgehogs, crabs and octopuses were washed ashore. Environmentalists talk about an increased content of harmful substances in the water, but the reasons for the disaster are not yet clear.

Khalaktyrsky beach looks like a terrifying museum of Kamchatka's marine fauna. The beach is considered a favorite place for surfing, but now fans of this sport do not risk going into the water here. Surfists have noticed that after swimming, their eyesight deteriorates and a sore throat.

Experts have found an almost fourfold increase in the content of oil products in seawater. In addition, phenol is present in the water. The reason for the appearance of harmful substances has not yet been established. Experts did not find large foci of pollution.

According to TASS, the president's plenipotentiary in the Far Eastern Federal District, Yuri Trutnev, instructed to investigate the reasons for the massive release of animals on the coast of Kamchatka.
