Ebeko volcano covered Severo-Kurilsk with ash. Scientists recorded another ejection from the crater of the mountain on April 28. The west wind drove so much black dust to the regional center that local residents had to wash their cars early in the morning.
As the leading engineer of the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences Leonid Kotenko told RIA Sakhalin-Kuriles, an insignificant ejection of the ash column began at 9:10. It lasted no more than three minutes. Such an event is considered the norm for the active volcano Ebeko. In recent months, there have been several "aftershocks" a day on the mountain.
Residents of Severo-Kurilsk were not surprised at the black bloom on cars, roofs and snow, but they still got a portion of inconvenience. Before getting behind the wheel and going to work and other business, the islanders had to clear their cars of ash. Over the past few days, this is already the second invasion of the "darkness" on the city.
