According to scientists, this is a system of fastenings that served to firmly connect two megalithic stones, the lower one, which we see in the picture, and the upper one, which fell down long ago.
Scientists explain that the stones were joined together not only by spherical protrusions inserted into the spherical funnels of the upper stone, but also by oak inserts, which were inserted into round recesses, but the wood rotted and the upper stone fell.
This is a good official version, but if you think about this image, it raises a number of questions about the technologies used to process these megaliths and the methods of its construction, which are somehow very advanced for those who are charged with the creation of this ancient monument.
