Heavy rains that have affected the Syrian province of Raqqa since March 25, 2020 have caused devastating floods and landslides that have killed at least seven people.

The Raqqa Civil Council, which is affiliated with the Kurdish Autonomous Administration of Northern and Eastern Syria (NES), announced that the deadly flood had killed seven civilians.

Ambulance crews rushed to the scene, retrieving the bodies of the dead. In the southern part of Raqqa, the crew managed to rescue three people in the villages of Ratla and Al-Akirshi, where landslides also occurred.

A bridge near the village of Sharida, located in the eastern countryside, has been destroyed. The IDP camp was damaged, but no casualties were reported.
