Since the hailstorms began in recent weeks, chaos has reigned in various parts of India. In Mizoram, hail damaged about 795 houses, the Minister of Emergency Situations confirmed.
In Haryana, more than 250,000 hectares of Rabi's crops were destroyed by heavy rainfall and hail. In West Bengal, mango plantations were destroyed in Malde due to heavy rain last week.
In the northeastern state of Mizoram, 46 houses were completely destroyed, while 749 others suffered partial damage, affecting nine out of 11 districts, including 58 villages.
The village of Hlappui in the East Mizoram region of Saud was most severely affected, with a total of 268 residential areas affected, 189 of which were completely roofed.
The government provided assistance to these families by providing 688 packs of sheet metal worth 2.9 million rupees, or about $ 38,500. The village department also dispensed 300 packs of tin sheets.
